Food: Not bad

One of the interesting discoveries on our trip was the food. Truth be known: it wasn't that bad. It was actually very similar to what we eat here. Slightly on the bland side, but I prefer it that way. One of the places that we particularly liked was.... well, I don't know the name of it. It was right next to our hotel so it was easy to get to. We started calling it "Boston Market" after we got back home, because it reminded us of a Boston Market and the sign actually looks like it could be translated to Boston Market. So - here are pictures of "The Russian/Boston Market"

I translated it on one of the auto translators (one of them has a Russian Keyboard, so you can type in your own Russian and it will then translate it) and it translates to something like "Fork and Spoon" or "Fork is the Spoon"

This makes a lot of sense considering the huge fork and spoon on either side of the front door. Thanks for the translation!

We had some really good food in Russia, I was quite pleasantly surprised. We had Greek salad every day (from several different restaurants) and it was miles better than any I've ever had in the US. I mentioned that to our translator who surmised that, maybe it's because they're closer to Greece? Um, don't think that's why. Anyhow. Good food, but of course, our experience might of been skewed because we went to the big cities (St. Pete's and Moscow).
