You guys are going to do great! We don't know much more Russian than you do and we adopted a 6.5 year old so chatters a mile a minute! I think just calming words, expressions and songs in any language will be perfect with your son. I'm also a big believer in "positive voice/attitude" (or opposite when it is needed to deal with behavioral issues) and/or body language when dealing with Rita. Because there is no way we could become fluent in Russian!!!
Oh my gosh! That is so impressive! Not only is your son going to benefit from your hard work, but you will too! Your language skills will help you get around in Russia so much. Danica and I really struggled at times, especially when we were eating out.
oh my gosh!!! I am laughing sooooo hard! That is too funny!! I am watching this video and the one of your husband and I am laughing so hard and thinking...what the heck are they saying?? Crap! I don't know any words to say to my son when I see him. Do you guys think you can be at the airport and when we get home and say all that stuff that you just recorded for our child?? That would be awesome!! I know you might be saying that you are his mom and dad, but at that point, I don't think he will know what's going on. (LOL) Your videos are awesome!!! You both sound very natural!!
Now THAT was a mouthful! Good for you guys! Your videos crack me up. I love it that you are so creative and entertaining. I would come back just to read the happy ending but all the extras are definitely a bonus!
