Hey check it out! Look what I found on the internet today:
(It says Novokuznetsk)
Yea, I know the letters look funny. It's kinda like when you're typing but all your fingers are off one key. They use mostly the same letters that we do, but obviously they use them all wrong..... What? You say, WE'RE the one's that have it wrong? How could it be?
Anyway, in all seriousness, wish us luck as we try to nagivate our way around a foreign land.

How sad that I can look at that sign and read it without your translation. That's what 3 1/2 weeks in Russia does to you.
I can't stress enough that you need to learn the alphabet. More so than phrases. Phrases are handy, but the alphabet will get you around. Russian is a phonetic language so if you know the letters you can sound out words. And many of the useful words for travelers are just "English" words written in Russian. Handy!
The most important words/phrases we learned for our trips to Russia:
Spasiba (spa-SEE-ba). Thank you. People who help you out really appreciate it when you thank them in their own language.
Ya Tibya Lublu. I love you.
